Is this abutment fully seated or should I send back to perio to profile it?

I added a radiograph of the encode. If the encode is fully seated, does that mean that this is a lab error when fabricating the abutment?

Here are my thoughts on it:

– your healing abutment seats fine. That is fully seated as there is no gap.

– your final abutment does not appear to be properly seated. Here are some possibilities:– the abutment is pushing against bone

– the abutment is pushing against soft tissue

– the abutment is the wrong platform size You basically have to rule out each possibility. You can rule out the soft tissue one by using a tissue punch and making sure nothing is holding it up.Also, does the screw squeak as it goes in?

If so, it means there is some tension from lack of proper seating. It is totally possible that the encode is seated but the abutment is not—indicating improper contour of the abutment. You could flap and adjust the bone or you can re-do the abutmentFinally make sure that the platform is the right size. You might have a narrow platform abutment (3.5) but a wider platform implant (4.5)

I know these little complications suck! We are here to help! Please post your progress and follow up questions!! I want to help!
